Denmark Has Europe's First Legal EU-GMP Certified Cannabis Seed Bank

Updated: May 20, 2022

In Denmark, cannabis is booming as more and more companies are getting involved in the industry. Such is the case of Rangers Pharmaceutical, a Danish subsidiary of the medical cannabis company Franchise Global Health. They will develop the first legal cannabis seed bank in Denmark. The bank in question houses a collection of up to 286 different strains, several of which are world-class and have gone on to win cannabis cups.

According to what High Times reported, Franchise Global Health, the Vancouver, Canada-based company, is located in several countries such as Germany, Colombia, Portugal, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines (Caribbean).

It is the first cannabis seed bank in Europe with EU-GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) certification, which guarantees the integrity of its process. While there are already legal cannabis seed banks in Europe, this one from Rangers Pharmaceutical is different. It has a license to store, sell, and export cannabis seeds worldwide under the legal framework of international trade, with permits to import and export.

In a conversation with the media outlet "High Times", President and CEO of Franchise Global Health, Clifford Starke, expressed that, "In Europe, we comply with EU-GMP standards, which require a rigorous approach to the production of all medicines."

Starke added: "Our goal is to become Europe's most trusted source of high-quality EU-GMP cannabis. We will achieve, in part, it by establishing our seed bank as a source of high-quality Cannabis-Cup winning genetics."
